Why can’t my child learn like others?
Many children learn differently from the rest of their peers. They may feel like they’re stupid or sometimes they may give off the appearance of being lazy. But this is seldom the case. Something is blocking their processing and learning is at times very difficult for them.
What about reading?
This is often the #1 issue that is holding students back in their learning. Many times parents and teachers are at a loss as to what to do. Often children enter High School with major reading challenges. When the assessment reveals reading difficulty, one highly recommend solution is the ASSOCIATION METHOD of reading.
- The Method is a multisensory teaching-learning strategy which includes the use of auditory, visual, tactile and motor-kinesthetic cues for learning.
- It uses cursive writing for initial instruction. Children learn to read manuscript, but write only in cursive.
- An individual child’s book is made as he/she progresses through the Method.
- Who can benefit from the Association Method?
All students can benefit from the Method. It is sometimes used by whole school districts as the preferred way of teaching reading. It can usually be taught in one hour sessions, once a week for 6 weeks. It has been implemented successfully for the following problems:
- Language disorders / aphasia of varying degrees (developomental or acquired)
- Language learning disabilities / dyslexia
- Attention deficit disorders with and without hyperactivity in conjunction with coexisting language learning disabilities
Do you offer tutoring?
We have tutored many students since the assessment often gives a clear indication of how they think and process. Tutoring is available for many different subjects.
